Marco Amoretti

Marco Amoretti is a former American Imperial Navy Petty Officer and a minor but important antagonist in Ghost in The Shell Stand Alone Complex. Due to the events that happened during "Project Sunset" - a covert CIA operation during World War IV - he turned into a psychotic serial killer.

In 2032 Japan, Amoretti attacked six people (one survived, five died) by skinning them alive. Among his victims were Purin Ezaki's family, revealed in SAC_2045. Due to this incident, the CIA tried to get Amoretti killed by Section 9 member Batou who, during his time as a JGSDF Ranger, also took part in "Project Sunset" but kept his sanity. However, Amoretti was captured by Batou instead of being killed. In the end, Amoretti got transferred to the American Empire, with Batou condemning the Americans' actions concerning the wellbeing of their own soldiers.
